Faithful as a dog with no leash,  

Looking for crumbs,  

Following the master who once  

Generously loved.


Foolish as one's first love,  

Praying to the heavens above,  

Exchanging sanity for a reason,  

Any reason to love.


Devoted as the moon to earth,  

Except she was the sun,  

Acting like you hardly knew  

She was navigating you.


Now you appear,  

Whispering regrets in her ear,  

All the pain you ignored  

When she was faithfully yours.
